FitSteps® is a dance fitness programme created by two former Strictly professionals, Ian Waite and Natalie Lowe, and Olympic swimmer, Mark Foster.
Classes are designed to cover all types of dance, combining graceful Ballroom moves and upbeat Latin steps with many other styles such as Charleston, Lindy Hop, Commercial, Hip Hop, Bhangra, Jazz and more.
For our New Year Challenges, we feature more complex routines involving props.

Since 2018, we have been dancing our hearts out in Welwyn and the surrounding areas. It all started with Seeko's passion for dancing and fitness and love of the TV show, Strictly Come Dancing. FitSteps® was the perfect marriage of these elements, and it all fell into place.
Each class is one hour long (TONE is 45 minutes), and participants mirror the instructor's movements.
Our music is carefully selected and includes popular hit songs from all eras.
Routines are easy to follow and typically composed of around eight different steps or combinations, with some exceptions for themed dances and fusions.
Our classes are suitable for dancers of all abilities, and we include a cardio class on Saturdays for those who want to elevate their fitness. Our TONE class combines dance moves with a looped resistance band, targeting the arms and upper body and focusing on improving posture, balance and functional movement.
We hold themed classes a few times every year to coincide with fundraising events. To date, we have raised funds for Comic Relief, Ukrainian Disaster Relief, Children In Need and World Child Cancer. Some themes we have embraced to date include the 1980s, Grease and ABBA. Our annual Halloween-themed class is one of our favourites and everyone dresses up spectacularly!
Dancing is proven to improve overall health, not just physically but mentally. A one-hour FitSteps® class can burn up to 900 calories and give you a boost of over 5,000 steps, while your brain also gets a workout as you learn and master the routines.
But perhaps the best part of FitSteps® is meeting likeminded people and forming wonderful friendships. Everyone is so friendly, and we often meet socially outside of classes. We have attended FitSteps® events such as the Christmas special at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, the FitSteps® Strictly Summer Roadshow and Masterclasses with Ian Waite. We also throw our own Christmas parties and have been known to take over the dance floor of several local establishments.
